Bamboo Dome Build & Talk On Buckminster Fuller

First we will hear from Steve Gariepy, R.B. Fuller Dome Home Board Member and Education Committee Chair. Steve will speak on the personal impact of Fuller’s works and legacy locally, at SIUC, and globally as the (Modern) Father of Sustainability, the "Leonardo DaVinci of the 20th Century", "Pilot of Spaceship Earth", and "Grandfather of the Future" etc. And the work that has been done to save, renovate, and utilize Fuller's Dome Home on the corner of Cherry and Forest streets, the current building of an interpretive center and art park, to keep the Fuler story alive in Carbondale, and relevance to current issues regarding humanity.

Following the talk by Steve there will be a presentation on how to build a simple 1V bamboo dome using minimal materials. Materials will be provided for folks to build along and attempt to create their own miniature domes.
